Samantha Markle Files A Lawsuit Against Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

Samantha Markle, Meghan’s half-sister, is taking her sister and brother-in-law to court on charges of defamation and falsehood. Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Samantha Markle sued them in 2022. 

Samantha Markle’s 2022 lawsuit claims that her half-sister made “demonstrably false and malicious statements….to a worldwide audience,” including the “roughly 50 million people in 17 countries” who watched the interview.

Meghan Markle attempted to end these depositions by filing a motion. Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell dismissed her motion. It was done since Meghan “does not show that unusual circumstances justify the requested stay, or that prejudice or an undue burden will result if the Court does not impose a stay.”

What Are The Charges Against Meghan Markle And Prince Harry?

Under the lawsuit filed in 2022, Samantha Markle is seeking a $75,000 (£62,000) restitution from the couple. The filing says that Meghan exposed her to “humiliation, shame, and hatred on a worldwide scale” and misrepresented their relationship growing up, giving the impression they were “virtual strangers.”

Samantha Markle also accused her half-sister of lying and giving the world a false sense of their relationship. According to Samantha, Meghan’s rags-to-riches narrative is a blatant lie. The former ‘Suits‘ actress destroyed her father and half-sister’s “reputation and credibility by claiming childhood hardship.”

The fallout from Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare‘ has been out of control. It has made his relationship with the British royalty more difficult. As the outcast royals continue to fall from grace, this lawsuit might end the support they’ve enjoyed.
