The royal family hasn’t been in its best spirits since two of the family members experienced a health scare back to back. While King Charles is scheduled to undergo a surgery for an enlarged prostate, Kate Middleton also underwent an abdominal surgery.
While the news soon made it to headlines, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly not informed about it. The Duke and the Duchess later sent some private wishes to both the royal family members. However, it seems Harry and Meghan weren’t the only ones who were kept in the dark about the health scare.

Kate Middleton’s Surgery Was “Planned” And Yet Came As A Surprise For Her Loved Ones
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, reportedly kept her recent abdominal surgery under wraps. Even the closest of her friends and confidantes were surprised after the news of her illness got media attention. While Kensington Palace described the procedure as “planned,” some reports also indicate that those closest to Middleton were unaware of her condition until she was hospitalized on January 16.
According to People Magazine, there were no warning signs that pointed at any health issues with the 42-year-old Kate Middleton before her hospitalization. Family friends and associates working closely with the Royal Family sad they were extremely surprised at the news of the severity of her health issues as Middleton had appeared to be in good standing during her recent public appearances.
The Duchess made her last public appearance on Christmas Day, as she attended Mass with her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Her birthday celebration on January 9 at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor also gained a lot of media limelight with the entire royal family present there. The princess showed no signs of health issues during these events.

Kate Middleton Is Recuperating After A Successful Surgery
It was about a week ago that Middleton underwent surgery to address an undisclosed abdominal issue, just seven days after the last public appearance. While Page Six confirmed the issue was not related to cancer, it was reportedly deemed serious enough to require medical intervention.
In a statement, the Palace said that Middleton will have to spend up to two weeks at the London Clinic for recovery. She would be discharged and able to return home before the end of January. Her husband Prince William is taking care of their children during her absence. He also visited her in the hospital on January 18.
Middleton will refrain from royal duties until after Easter, while it is still uncertain when she will be making public appearances again. Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III is scheduled for a “corrective procedure“ to address an enlarged prostate. He has been updated to be in good health for now as his surgery is set to be scheduled soon.
