As Kate Middleton celebrated her 42nd birthday on January 9, the celebrations were at their peak. Like any and every royal celebration, Kate was surrounded by majestic celebrations though she chose to spend her birthday privately.
Her plans reportedly include family time as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’ school break for the Christmas holiday is also about to end. King Charles and Queen Camilla were among the first to wish Kate a happy birthday on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kate’s husband, Prince William issued a sad message on the auspicious eve. Here’s why.
What Message Did Prince William Share On Kate Middleton’s Birthday?
On Kate Middleton’s birthday, Prince William took a moment to interrupt the celebrations to issue an emotional message. The Prince of Wales paid tribute to Welsh rugby legend JPR Williams, who passed away at the age of 74 on the day before her birthday.
On Tuesday, Prince William posted a bilingual tribute in English and Welsh on X for the player. “There was no one quite like him on the rugby field. A true @WelshRugbyUnion great, my thoughts are with JPR Williams’ family and friends,” he wrote. The royal signed the message as ‘W,’ using his first initial stating the note came directly from him.

His death was initially announced by the Bridgend Ravens, a team he played for and served as club president until his passing.
