Who Is Samantha Markle?
Meghan Markle was born in 1981 in Los Angeles, California. However, when she was just two years old her parents got divorced. Meghan’s father Thomas Markle previously had two children from his first wife. One of them is Samantha Markle, who is Meghan’s half-paternal sister. She too was born in Los Angeles only, however, now resides in Florida.
When Samantha was young, she met with an unfortunate accident that rendered her one eye blind for life. After that, she was also diagnosed with sclerosis, which led her to use a wheelchair. Samantha has faced numerous health and family complications. As a result, she became a mental health advocate and counselor. She did masters in mental health rehabilitation. But, she herself has troubled relationships with almost all her close associates and she hasn’t spoken to Meghan for years. Certainly, she wasn’t even a part of the royal wedding. The strains extend to Samantha’s own children as well.
When Samantha came out with her book, ‘The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister,’ she claimed that the book would not be an expose of any kind, but would focus on “lovely aspects” of her life with Meghan. But, during an interview with The Sun, Samantha referred to her half-sister as a “shallow social climber,” saying that the latter’s actions were “not becoming of a royal family member.”

What’s The Reason Behind Meghan Markle And Samantha’s Feud?
Samantha Markle, Meghan Markle’s half-sister, filed a lawsuit against the Duchess of Sussex, saying that she lied during her tell-all interview with Prince Harry in 2021. In her lawsuit filed in March 2022, Samantha, who has been vocal against Meghan during her royal reign, alleged that she had not been truthful about her background or their father when she claimed that she was raised in “virtual poverty.” The complaint was brought after years of public turmoil involving the two families.
During her interview with CBS, Meghan said she and Samantha were never close, despite the fact that they are half-siblings. Samantha claimed that Meghan fabricated stories about her and their father. According to her, this was done in order to prevent them from “interfering with or contradicting the fake narrative and fairytale life story [she] invented.”
After Thomas Markle manufactured paparazzi images and skipped Meghan’s 2018 wedding, he and the Duchess of Sussex became increasingly estranged. He has previously responded to her statements about their feud. In 2021, he said, “She’s very much ghosted all of her relatives, on her mother’s side and my side. That meant she couldn’t turn to anyone for support. If she had kept us, she would have us. All of us are fallible.”
