The Accession Council made King Charles III, the new king of the constitutional monarchy in Britain in September 2022. Charles also asked his son, Prince Harry to vacate the Frogmore Cottage. Now, he is transforming the monarchical system asking members to vacate their London homes for financial revamping.

King Charles III Wants To Increase Financial Channels Renting The London Homes
The new monarch of Britain, King Charles III, is looking to lessen the burden on private funds from the Duchy of Lancaster. As a new monarch, he is looking to modernize the money flow into the family. Charles is looking to slash the extra costs of maintaining the personal possessions of the Royal Family members. Now, in a new move, he is looking to put out the London houses of the members on rent.
A source updated the Evening Standard about the new real estate plans. The source said, “Properties will be let at commercial rates going forward and to people outside the family. Where it is in a palace environment they will of course be security vetted.”
Currently, many members reside in either—Kensington Palace or St. James Palace—the two royal residences. At Kensington Palace, Birgitte and Prince Richard, the Duke, and Duchess of Gloucester are living royals. It also houses Prince Edward and Katherine, the Duke, and Duchess of Kent.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have created a rift between them and the Royal Family members. This is due to the barrage of content maligning the image of the family. It includes a two-part docuseries on Netflix titled ‘Harry & Meghan’, and Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’. It has made the roads to negotiating more difficult for them. Now, King Charles III has ousted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from their Britain House.
The Frogmore Cottage holds a special place in the couple’s life along with its historic significance. King Henry VIII, in the 18th century, possessed the property. Along with her daughters, Queen Charlotte shifted in the property. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were buried together at the property which is now a Royal mausoleum.
Harry and Meghan hosted their wedding reception at the property. The two refurbished the house and renovated it into a five-bedroom house. The couple shifted to the property for the first time before Prince Archie’s birth. However, the property is now getting vacated due to the new cost cuts introduced by King Charles III. An insider told The Sun, “This surely spells the end of Harry and Meghan’s time in the U.K.”
