The road to making “Avatar: The Last Airbender” has been a bumpy ride. In 2018, Netflix announced that it would be releasing a remake of the award-winning “Avatar: The Last Airbender” as a live-action show. In the beginning, they had involved the show’s original creators Bryan Konietzko and Micheal Dante DiMartino as executive producers and showrunners. But in 2020, they left due to creative differences.

Netflix still went ahead despite losing the creators. They added Albert Kim as showrunner and Executive Producer. They avoided the mistakes made by M. Night Shyamalan in 2010 the last Airbender by diversifying the cast. The cast includes Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio Tarbell as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Elizabeth Yu as Azula, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai.

In Shyamalan’s movie, the biggest problem was that Aang’s character was way too serious hence losing his lovable sense of humor. But Cormier Aang has evidently revealed that won’t be an issue for him.

The series will be streaming on Netflix from December 2.
