Firecracker On ‘The Boys’ Is Inspired By Republican Conspiracy Theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene
Firecracker’s origin lies in the aftermath of Homelander’s outburst which lead to a death and a trial. Additionally, she emerged as a far-right-wing conspiracy theorist with a serious ax to grind. Her mission? To seek vengeance and destroy the beloved Starlight.
Eric Kripke, the showrunner, in an interview with Variety, revealed that he drew inspiration from the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene. Firecracker came from like, ‘Hey, isn’t Marjorie Taylor Greene scary?’ And just that type of personality. Like, you had Trump, but now you have these Trump spawns that are trying to outdo each other for how outrageous and sexualized and gun-toting and slavishly obedient they can be,” Eric explained.
Greene, with her QAnon allegiance, anti-Semitic remarks, and confrontational style, became the role model for Firecracker. Additionally, both women thrive on controversy, leveraging social media to amplify their messages.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, the firebrand congresswoman from Georgia, has become a lightning rod for controversy. Her unapologetic embrace of conspiracy theories, inflammatory rhetoric, and provocative stunts has catapulted her into the national spotlight.
Greene burst onto the scene during the 2020 election cycle, winning a seat in the House of Representatives as a staunch Trump loyalist. Her style has drawn both fervent supporters and fierce critics. She revels in the limelight, unafraid to ignite political fireworks.
Her rise to prominence mirrors the era of hyper-partisanship and social media sensationalism. Additionally, just like Firecracker, Majorie’s followers adore her for her as a fearless truth-teller who refuses to be silenced.
Marjorie knows how to play the game, leveraging controversy to maintain her relevance. Following in her footsteps, Firecracker is also no different.
