Ten years ago, a criminal walked into the FBI, offering the most dangerous criminals on a platter and demanding the assistance of an FBI rookie. Since then ‘The Blacklist‘ has been through betrayals, secret babies, extensive heists, and shocking deaths. Season after season, only shock bombs were dropped and the series became twisted.
As the final episode aired on July 13, ‘The Blacklist‘ finally bid farewell to James Spader’s Raymond Reddington, a professional criminal with a secretive past and identity. The actor successfully carried the entire show single-handedly with his eccentric personality and engaging plotlines. But does the criminal mastermind die at the end of ‘The Blacklist‘?

Season 10 begins with Wujing (Blacklister from season one) partnering up with other Blacklisters to hunt down Reddington. But the Task Force which reunited in season nine finds a concerning opponent – Congressman Arthur Hudson who begins investigating their work after noticing the government is spending significant sums on a covert unit. Hudson takes extreme measures to get dirt on the unit and shut down the Task Force. Even Agent Donald Ressler’s phone was bugged to find evidence in order to cease the Task Force’s existence permanently.
The season finale was aired in two parts, the first part titled ‘Raymond Reddington: Pt. 1’ and the other ‘Raymond Reddington: Good Night’. Does Raymond Reddington Die In The End?
Red has been faking his own death throughout the series, hence his death in the series finale still brought out many questions with fans left wondering did he die for real. The second part of the last episode follows the final few moments of the criminal mastermind as he makes one last call to his granddaughter Agnes Keen and Dembe. Anges Keen has been staying with Agent Harold Cooper ever since Elizabeth’s death in season eight.
Red is seen enjoying a walk through the Spanish countryside, finding himself facing an unexpected contender. It is not a Blacklister with a gun, but instead a bull. Unable to escape the situation, the Task Force finds Red dead, still bloody from the charging bull. The ending of the series is bland and honestly rather disrespectful to the criminal mastermind who aided the FBI catch the Blacklisters.
