Tolkien’s eponymous book and its appendices, the show is set in the Second Age of Middle-earth. It takes place thousands of years before the events of ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings.’
The first season is slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 1 and fans can’t keep up the excitement. It will feature a number of familiar and unfamiliar characters such as elves, dwarves, orcs, etc. One interesting aspect of Tolkien’s universe is that elves live in forests compared to dwarves who live in mountains.

‘The Rings Of Power’: Why Do Elves Live In Forests?
Prime Video’s ‘The Rings of Power’ is one of the most highly anticipated shows of this year. It will feature characters that are familiar to the readers and viewers of the book and the films.
One aspect of the universe that puzzles viewers as to why elves live in forests and dwarves in the mountains? There are some elves who are cave dwellers as well.
They use caves as a defense strategy to protect themselves from the malice of Morgoth. For Menegroth, Thingol at the urging of Melian had dwarves aid him in building it.
Elves generally love forests and things that grow. The Silvan Elves, as shown in the films, have a tendency to settle in the forests. It is a common tendency of the elves species to gravitate toward trees, leaves, plants, and greenery, according to Tolkien’s writing.

Why Do Dwarves Live In Mountains?
Dwarves, on the other hand, tend to live in the mountains. This is because mines are most usually to be found in the mountains, or in mountainous areas.
So Dwarves are basically miners, they gravitate towards such regions. The folding mountains created by tectonic plate shifts are not heavy minerals like metals. This is where we most often see dwarves.
According to World Building, a mine in the middle of a desert also implies food, water supply, and caravan routes. This might be another reason for the dwarves to move towards and live in the mountains.
‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ is created by J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay. The first season will premiere on September 1 and filming for the second season is expected to start in October.
