Any show is incomplete without the main protagonist choosing between two people they love. It creates engagement as it keeps the audience hooked throughout the series. The tension created by these love triangles is often spicy and sometimes relatable as well.

People binge-watching TV shows often have to choose between the teams, which makes it more interesting. Here are the 10 best love triangles that divided the fandoms into two teams.

1. The Vampire Dairies

The Vampire Diaries love triangle troop is among the most famous love triangles in the history of TV shows. Elena Gilbert was the main protagonist for the first six seasons of the show, where the storyline revolved around her supernatural powers and the Salvatore brothers who were vampires.

Elena shared a love triangle with Damon Salvatore and Stephan Salvatore. Stephan was the kind, genuine, good boy who loved Elena. However, Elena was in love with Damon, who was a typical TV show bad boy.

2. The Office

Throughout the first three seasons of The Office’, Pam struggles with her feelings for Jim Halpert in the show despite her being in a fully committed relationship with Roy. Pam has been dating Roy since high school but with Jim, she felt much more comfortable and free.

Pam finally gave chance to Jim and after two years of being in a relationship, they finally got married pursued their dreams, and had children as well.

3. The Crown

Everyone knows the famous royal love triangle between King Charles, Princess Diana, and the other woman in the narrative, Camilla Parker-Bowles. A show was made on the following story that tackled the messy love life of Diana and her husband, who was never hers.

The Netflix drama The Crown not only showed the marriage and life struggles of Princess Diana but also portrayed Charles in a different manner which made people sympathize with him. The characters had both sad and good endings which were based on real-life events.

Friends is the most popular sitcom to ever exist. It is a comfort show for many and fans can never have enough of it. The show featured many love triangles throughout but the most famous one would be the triangle between Rachel, Ross, and Joey.

From the start of the show, Rachel and Ross were the ‘IT’ couple throughout but the makers of the show added Joey to the race for Rachel. Fans are familiar with Joey’s sort of playboy persona, however, in season 7 he fell for Rachel Green. Fans have criticized this route and are still figuring out the necessity of this plot.

5. Never Have I Ever

‘Never Have I Ever’ revolves around a girl called Devi who struggles to find her love interest in the series. But lucky her, she had a love triangle between Paxton and Ben. Devi was struggling with the loss of her father and a messy relationship with her mother as well.

She never allowed these things to take over her and the love triangle being the subplot, Devi focused on her self-growth. Fans thought that Paxton would be Devi’s final choice but she went with Ben in the final season as she was happy with him more.

6. Gossip Girl

Gossip Girlwas also among the most popular 2000s teen drama show. It focused on wealthy people with romantic and family interests being the main plots. Serena van der Woodsen shared her part of the messy relationships in the series but was focused on both Dan Humphrey and Nate Archibald.

Dan was the kind of escapist for her who she felt connected with while Nate was the one who truly loved her and cared for her during her pain. But she chose Dan in the end.

7. Gilmore Girls

Rory Gilmore in the ‘Gilmore Girlsfound herself as the love interest of many men. She shared intense relationships with Dean, Jess, and Logan finding herself in two love triangles and all the pretty men being obsessed with her.

One thing that was common in both the love triangles was the bad boy Jess Mariano. Rory behaved in a certain way that made the characters used to distance themselves from her. But she linked with Dean when he was still married.

Team Jelly or Team Bonrad! Belly finds herself caught between the two brothers, Jeremiah and Conrad. There were teams made for both ships on social media and fans used to decide which boy was better for Belly. Belly loved Conrad since her childhood but she later switched to Jeremiah.

She also had a few other interests here and there in the story but was stuck to both the boys. She never made an obvious choice as Belly herself was confused and it’s still not clear who she will make her ultimate choice.

9. Stranger Things

Stranger Things was the show with the perfect dosage of thrill, visuals, storyline, and everything you would need in a Netflix show. The storyline also had a love triangle between Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington (ex), and her boyfriend Jonathan Byers.

At the beginning of the storyline, Steve is shown as a toxic boyfriend and hence Nancy leaves him. But later his character develops in the best way possible and Nancy and Jonathan also continue in a healthy relationship.

10. How I Met Your Mother

How I Met Your Mother is also a famous sitcom, that too had a love triangle between Robin Scherbatsky, Barney, and Ted. Robin joined Ted’s friend group and they had a talking stage but it ended as being friends only. This allowed Robin to explore more people as her potential love interest.

And then she meets Barney, whom she gets married to in the final season. But things go south soon after as they both file a divorce later and Ted reignites his feelings for Robin.
