Just imagine Charlie from ‘Perks Of Being A Wallflower’ and Elle from ‘The Kissing Booth’ together. Cinematic heaven, right? Well, Hulu has provided the audience with just that. The streaming giant will release a TV mini-series named ‘We Were The Lucky Ones‘ starring Logan Lerman and Joey King in key roles.
Hulu released a sneak peek of the two in their get-up and the release date. Here’s everything to know about the series.

The Release Date, Cast, And Director Of ‘We Were The Lucky Ones’
The series is based on a book by Georgia Hunter, titled the same as the series. ‘We Were The Lucky Ones’ will release the first three episodes on March 28th. The latter episodes will air weekly afterward. The story is inspired by a true occurrence that follows a Jewish family and their ordeals during the Second World War. Hulu regards the series as a demonstration of how in the face of the twentieth century’s darkest moment, the human spirit can endure and even thrive. The series is a tribute to the triumph of hope and love against all odds.
The film is helmed by Thomas Kail and Jenifer Todd, who are also the executive producers of the series. The screen-writing has been done by Erica Lipez who also serves as the showrunner. The original author, Georgina Hunter shall co-executively produce the series so we can rest assured that the series will stick to its roots.
The cast ensembles include Robin Weigert as Nechuma, Amit Rahav who plays Jakob, Lior Ashkenazi as Sol, and Robert Dölle as Herr Den among others in addition to Logan Lerman and Joey King who shall play the characters of Addy and Alina respectively.

An Overview Of ‘We Were The Lucky Ones’
Poland in the spring of 1939 wasn’t exactly a safe abode for people for Jewish people, for they were stuck in a war that aimed at erasing each from their bloodline and ethnicity. A fire that had been spread far away from Poland but the mild warmth of which was slowly becoming a searing burn that could engulf all three generations of the Kurc family. As the arms of Nazi Germany reach Poland, the Kurc family is thrown into different ends of the world.
One sibling is forced into exile, another attempts to flee the continent, while others struggle to escape certain death, either by working grueling hours on empty stomachs in factories of the ghetto or by hiding as gentiles in plain site (Source: Goodreads). Follow the story of the parts of the Kurc family as they navigate their way back to their lost kin.
