There have been many wild theories about the identity of Eleven’s father. Over the four seasons many people have speculated about her father’s identity and no one had any concrete answers. We know that Eleven was born in 1971 to a woman named Terry Ives. Ives was known to have participated in the MKUltra project in 1969. The prequel novel for ‘Stranger Things‘, ‘Suspicious Minds‘ mentions the identity of Eleven’s father.

In the novel, Andrew Rich is considered to be Eleven’s father. Rich dates Ives while she is involved with the MKUltra project and he later dies while fighting in the Vietnam War. As the series never mention the character of Andrew Rich, we don’t know for sure if he is present in the ‘Stranger Things‘ TV show universe.

Although, some fans also suggest that the character of Number One or Vecna could be Eleven’s father. It is thought that before Henry Creel turned into Number One or Vecna, Dr. Brenner used his semen to produce test subjects. As we know, Eleven was one of Dr. Brenner’s subjects, it might be possible that she is Henry Creel’s daughter. Some even suggest that Eleven might be Ives and Dr. Brenner’s child but there is no proof to back all the theories.

Even though Eleven (real name Jane) doesn’t know her real father, she does have a strong father figure in her life. She connects instantly with Jim Hopper (David Harbour) and he even acts as her adoptive father in the later season. Hopper saved Eleven and her friends multiple times. He formed a strong connection with her as he also had a daughter whose loss still haunts him. He considered Eleven just like his daughter.

When Eleven disappeared in ‘Stranger Things‘, Hopper felt a loss similar to when his daughter died. Hence, he decides to find her and he ultimately sees her in the woods. He then moves them to an old cabin and takes care of her for a year. When they start living together, they still have a complicated relationship. But after a year, she starts seeing him as a father figure.

When Hopper supposedly dies in 1985 while closing the gates while defeating Mind Flayer, Eleven becomes very sad because of his death. She mourns his death for a year after which she moves out of Hawkins along with the Byer family. But it is revealed that Hopper is alive after Vecna is defeated and Eleven embraces him, overjoyed that he is back. So even though Eleven doesn’t know her biological father, her adoptive father more than makes up for it.
