    Netflix is taking the heat a notch up with its sultry limited series ‘Obsession’. The trailer of the series is rambunctiously sexy and involves everything from sex to infidelity to betrayal. The trailer introduces us to Anna Barton (Charlie Murphy), a sensual woman who is meeting her fiancé, Jay, with his family. At the dinner meeting, Anna gets smitten by Jay’s father, William leading to a saga of fatal attraction.

    The lascivious notes of ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ by Kylie Minogue sets the tone for the narrative. It is set to explore the exploited tale of kink and sex in similar fashion to ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and Michele Morrone starrer ‘365 Days’. However, there is a deep and seething story behind Anna’s past and obsession with William.

    ‘Obsession’ also stars Pippa Bennett-Warner, Bridgerton’s Celine Arden, Letty Thomas, Victor Pontecorvo, Kerim Hassan, and others. The series is co-written by Morgan Lloyd-Malcom and Benji Walters. ‘Good Vibrations’ director Lisa Barros D’Sa is helming the limited series. Netflix will release the series on April 13th, 2023.

    ‘Obsession’ is based on the 1991 erotic thriller novel ‘Damage’ by Josephine Hart. The book is based on an obsessive politician whose sexual quest leads him into deep waters. The book received rave reviews from major publications. The New York Times wrote, “The reader looks on with mingled shock and fascination. A tour de force.”

    In an interview with the Hello Magazine, Richard Armitage (‘Stay Close’ and ‘The Stranger’) talked about his role in the upcoming erotic series. He said, “It’s based on a brilliant book about a man who falls in love with his son’s fiancée and they get into a very complicated relationship.”

    Richard continued, “I play the father, Rish Shah plays the son and Charlie Murphy plays the fiancée and Indira Varma plays my wife. It’s a really brilliant cast, so I can’t wait for that to air. I think it’s going to be really good.”
