‘Sex Education’ bids adieu to the Netflix audience four years after it aired on the show, creating much-needed chatter about sex education for young teens. The last session for ex-Moordale kids happened at Cavendish College with new friends, challenges, and foes! The third season saw Otis and Maeve express their love for each other as the latter moved to the US for a study program. Eric breaks up with Adam.
The fourth season of ‘Sex Education’ saw a rival to Otis’ sex clinic, Eric finding new queer friends with Ruby, Cal, and Maeve, trying to make sense of the new environment and themselves. Along with new story tropes, Laurie Nunn introduced new characters who identify as trans and non-binary. The characters include Roman, Abbi, and Aisha. Though season four has ended, Laurie is hinting at a spin-off of the most loved Netflix show.

The latest season of ‘Sex Education’ did not strike a chord with the audience, but it had some prominent points that Laurie Nunn put across. She portrayed the struggles of a new mother who is old, inaccessibility to trans surgeries, grief, and many more. However, in an interview, Laurie said she wanted to keep trans characters and non-binary characters in the foreground with less time for the core characters.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Laurie Nunn hinted at a possible spin-off. She said, “There are so many different avenues to explore Moordale more. I’ve really loved some of the new characters in series four. I think it would be really cool to maybe see some more of them.”
However, the ‘Sex Education’ spin-off will not happen soon. Laurie Nunn continued, “But, to be honest, I’m not really thinking about any spin-offs right now. I’m just sort of taking a break and getting to know what my brain feels without writing Sex Education for a bit.”

During the red carpet event of BAFTA, Emma Mackey asked if she would come back for the fifth season of ‘Sex Education’. Maeve, the character she plays, had a tragic trajectory throughout the fourth season. When she was asked about the fifth season, the fourth season was not out. She told Radio Times, “Season 5? I’ve finished the fourth one last week. No, I don’t think I’ll be in season 5. I’ve said goodbye to Maeve.”
