During the Time cover interview, Bad Bunny was asked about the relationship rumors making rounds with Kendall Jenner. When the rumors surfaced, many of his Latin fans called him out. Many Latin fans criticized him for dating the Jenner sister.
The fans were upset because several times, Bad Bunny sang about his eternal love for Latin culture and women. He even went to the extent to say that women trying to fit in or merge into the reggaeton culture lack flavor (sazón).
The lyric is from the song ‘El Apagón’ from the 2022 Grammy-winning album ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’. Due to his contradicting behavior, he was at the center of criticism from his Latino fans.
Bad Bunny did not comment on the Jenner rumor but cleared the air about the ‘sazón’ lyric. He said, “I was upset. But now that feeling has passed me. Our culture and music impacts people in other places. They want to try it and feel it. So why am I going to be bothered by that, if they do it with respect?”
Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio aka Bad Bunny said that he only cares about his Puerto Rican fans and the criticism does not affect him.
Bad Bunny commented, “When I read comments that say, ‘Bad Bunny now I’m not going to listen to your music,’ that’s fine. I’m not going to do something else for you to like it. There are plenty of artists, and perhaps you’ll find someone you’ll like.”
