“Cuban Mami So Happy”: Eva Mendes Praises Ryan Gosling’s Heavy Cuban Accent On Latest ‘SNL’ Skit

Ryan Gosling‘s wife Eva Mendes took to Instagram to shower praise on him after the ‘Barbie‘ actor pulled off an impeccable Cuban accent in the Can’t Tonight‘ Saturday Night Live sketch. Gosling was also joined by Marcello Hernández as the duo portrayed two men coaxing their friend, played by Kenan Thompson, to join them for a night out.

Mendes was particularly proud of her husband because of her Cuban heritage. As he aced the act as well as the accent, she couldn’t contain her delight. “Coño! My Cuban Papi made this Cuban Mami so happy with this!! Years of hanging out with my Dad paid off,” the actress wrote in the caption of an Instagram post with the video of Gosling’s gig on the show.

In the skit, both Gosling and Hernández flawlessly spoke in heavy Cuban accents. They both were seen conversing with a waitress, played by Sarah Sherman, as they continued to show off their Cuban language skills. During the skit, Thompson’s character even comically clarified their origins, quipping that Gosling has transformed since he married a Cuban woman.

I’m Dominican, and he’s Cuban [Hernández], and he [Gosling] is from Tennessee, but ever since he married a Cuban woman, he is different,” he says in the skit.
