This year’s SAG Awards witnessed a historic win for Killers of the Flower Moon’s Lilt Gladstone. Also, Oppenheimer’s Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. shined on the stage. For so many reasons this year’s SAG Awards are special as it aired on Netflix for the first time after the 2023 WGA and SAG strikes.
Apart from the actors sweeping off the awards, fans went nostalgic as the iconic cast reunions were up the stage. From Modern Family to Devil Wear Prada, it was the night of long-awaited results.

‘The Devil Wears Prada’
Meryl Streep graced the stage to present the award for the Best Male Actor in a Comedy Series to ‘The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White. Streep was soon joined by her ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ co-stars, Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway.
Hitting a wave of nostalgia, Blunt delivered some of Meryl Streep’s iconic lines including, “By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me.” The iconic trio were more of their on-screen ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ than themselves.
‘Modern Family’
One of the most awaited reunions, after the ‘Modern Family’s last hug in 2020. It was heartwarming to watch the adult cast- Julie Bowen, Ty Burell, Ed O’Neil, Sofia Vergara, Eric Stonestreet, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson as the cast brought along their cheeky humor.
The ‘Modern Family’ ensemble gave ‘The Bear’ cast their honor for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. The cast jokes a little about their sitcom lives starting with Eric Stonestreet joking that he could call Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Travis Kelce from the stage.
Adding with O’Neill admitted he missed the cash the series brought and Vergara extolled her recent success with Griselda. Meanwhile, Julie Bowen was busy eyeing the Barbie star, Ryan Gosling.

‘Breaking Bad’
History repeats itself but with role reversal. ‘The Breaking Bad’ cast including Jonathan Banks, Bryan Cranston, Dean Norris, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Bob Odenkirk, and R.J. Mitte were thrilled to be reunited to present the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series award, while once being on the receiver’s end.
However, not all of them were game to follow the script that was written for them as they presented the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series award. The ensemble dropped a few f-bombs onstage with Jonathan Banks assuring that “they can’t fire us for not following the rules.”
‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring’
After almost 20 years ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’ won Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture, Elijah Wood and Sean Astin reunited on stage to present the nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role.
The duo got involved in a friendly banter with Sean Astin revealing why Elijah Wood never got his SAG award when ‘The Lord of the Rings’ won back in its days as he missed the ceremony in 2002. Wood said, “Sean, you were supposed to collect my statue for me if we won, what happened to it?”
