How Did Megan Fox Lose Her Battle With Hollywood? Actress Opens Up About How The Industry Did Her Wrong

Megan Fox‘s entry into Hollywood in the early 2000s certainly created a lot of noise. Starting with small roles in sitcoms like ‘Two And A Half Men’ and movies like ‘Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen’, Fox made a name for herself in the industry pretty quickly.

Her breakthrough role in ‘Transformers’ launched her as a sex symbol in the industry. Two decades later, the actress opens up about her experience in the industry and how it has put her down.

It’s safe to say that Megan’s godly features and appearance helped her stand out in the industry way more than her acting skills did. Dubbed as a sex symbol, she endured her share of objectification and sexualization from the generation then, and has also been open about her struggles with her sexual side.

In 2008, Fox made a statement saying that she had the sex drive of a 15-year-old boy which later created headlines, with many even deducing her to a nymphomaniac. Later that year she expressed her sexual side and said, ”I really enjoy having sex, and that’s offensive to some people. Women are the quickest to call other women sluts, which I think is sad.”

Also talking about how her openness triggers other women she said, ”I’ve never felt completely included in the feminist community and I do still think that it’s tricky in an awful way… I think that I was ahead of the MeToo movement by almost a decade.

Most of the headlines, however, were sort of self-manufactured by Fox herself. Like all the raunchy talk on media events about her sex life with Machine Gun Kelly, or her hosting a porn site during Jennifer’s Body’s promo, something that the film’s maker even later condemned, also adding that it was Megan’s idea in the first place.

Fox has recently released a poetry book called Pretty Boys Are Poisonous and during one of its readings, she went into detail about the struggles she had endured for a place in Hollywood.

In one of her recent readings for her poetry book, Fox says, “I did feel oftentimes very alone. It felt like a losing battle, but I was confident in my truth and my integrity. I had to trust that it would be equalized at some point, and it feels like it eventually was.”

At fifteen years of age, Megan got herself a background role for Michael Bay’s Bad Boys II (2003). She played a nightclub dancer in the film and had a dance sequence where she wore a bikini and six-inch heels.

“At 15, I was in 10th grade,” she said in an interview later on. “That’s kind of a microcosm of how Bay’s mind works.”

She and Bay had a lot of disagreements over the course. She has spoken up about Bay’s work ethic and how he made her “do some really insane things that insurance would never let you do.” Megan even compared him to Hitler and Bonaparte.

In another interview, talking about the scrutiny she faced at the hands of the public she said, “I was brought out and stoned and murdered at one point. And then suddenly everybody’s like, ‘Wait a second. We shouldn’t have done that. Let’s bring her back.'”

The actress’ last movie ventures are ‘Johnny And Clyde’ and ‘The Expendables 4’, both received mediocre reviews at the box office.
