Isabela Merced Praises ‘The Last Of Us’ Co-Star Bella Ramsey
Isabela Merced recently appeared on Josh Horowitz’s ‘Happy Sad Confused‘ podcast. She was asked about the progress of ‘The Last Of Us’ season 2, to which she replied that they are in the middle and almost the end of the tail. The actress further talked about her experience of exploring the game and how the set looks the same as the real game.
Isabela added that shooting for the series is quite challenging as the show is not about glitz and glamour, but a deadly fungus threatening humanity. The one dominating expression in the series is “fear” and they have to face it every day. For that, Merced is proud of her co-star Bella Ramsey.
Merced said, “They’re working hard physically, mentally, and emotionally. One thing I’ve learned throughout this is you can admire people who are younger than you. You can really look up to them.” She also wished that “Bella gets their flowers“.

Further in the podcast, Merced talked about the hate ‘The Last Of Us‘ receives online. It could be because the show is based on a game and some people find the game better than a series. Isabela stated, “Showrunner and the creator of the video game, they work together to make this, so if you like the guy made and he’s making more of it, why are you mad?”
Merced added that she’s opinionated on X (Twitter) and when she sees hate towards her show, “it makes her Cardi B on him“. People fail to understand the difference between fiction and reality.
Kaitlyn Denver, who plays Abby in season 2, was provided with extra security due to the hate she received. “There are people that actually genuinely hate Abby, who is not a real person. Just a reminder, not a real person,” Merced said. “And so Kaitlyn had to be extra secured by security when it came to the filming of this.”
