Jennifer Lopez On Finding Love Again With Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez recently made an appearance on the ‘Kyle and Jackie O Radio Show‘ and talked about needing to “figure herself out” after she and Ben Affleck, whom she described as “brilliantly smart… Loving, charming, affectionate” broke their engagement in 2004.
Explaining the heartbreak, she explained, “I fell in love with the love of my life and for whatever reasons that we needed to grow and do other things. We both went off and had children with other people and other relationships, but you know in my mind I kind of had it like, ‘Oh, that was kind of the one.’”
Lopez then married Marc Anthony in 2004, but they had a divorce 10 years later. The former couple share twins Max and Emme. On the other hand, Affleck exchanged vows with Jennifer Garner in 2008. But as fate or cupid would have it, they also ended their marriage in 2018. They have two daughters – Violet, and Seraphina. After Lopez and Affleck reunited, their ex-partners seem to have moved past their bitterness as they all often hangout together.
But looking back at the time Lopez got her love back, she said, “I was like ‘I’m good on my own, I’m fine, I love my life’. And when you get to that place, I think that’s when the universe kind of opened up to me and was like, “OK now you’re ready.’” She added, “I couldn’t believe it and I don’t think he could either. It’s not something we ever planned. We really had moved on with our lives but when we reconnected, it was almost instant and we just knew.”

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were head over heels in love and became a fan-favorite couple at the turn of the 21st century. They were supposed to get married in 2003, after being engaged for a year, however, they called off the wedding ceremony just days before the date. The reason? In Affleck and Lopez’s words, “Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date.”
Their statement added,” When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations, we realized that something was awry. We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families and our friends.”
