While talking with BBC, Brian Cox said, “One thing I have lost is my anonymity, which I prized.” Earlier people didn’t used to recognize him. “People would say you’re…? ” Cox said during the interview. He used to love the fact that people didn’t recognize him because he has done a variety of roles but now they call him Logan Roy.

Further Cox talked about how he did more than 200 films and the one he was recognized by is ‘Succession’. He said, “I have done more than 200 films altogether so it was just another role, but it was a great one”.

Cox thoroughly enjoyed his time during Succession. “It was [a] great time, one of the best jobs, ever – no question – particularly because of the ensemble. It was a great cast to work with. We are close as a family and it was one of the happiest jobs ever,” he added.

Awards are the kind of validation an actor looks for during his career. Sunday’s Bafta TV Awards was a kind of surprise to Cox. He thought that he was probably over with his awards for his role in ‘Succession‘ but it kept coming back. He said, “I thought that’s gone and I’d moved on. But Logan keeps popping back up whether I like it or not.”

The Succession‘ star added, “It’s nice to get awards but it’s not about that, it’s about doing the work.” He treats everything with a dash of salt, by not taking them seriously. It might have gotten to a point of saturation for him.

Cox continued, “I have won so many awards connected to the show but it would be great to win something on one’s home turf as it were. But I treat these things with a dash of salt – I don’t take them too seriously”.
