Kevin Bacon’s peaceful family hike quickly turned into complete chaos after a horrifying encounter with a swarm of bees left the actor running for cover and getting stung “everywhere.”
But while the ‘Footloose‘ star painfully battled the aggressive hive, his daughter, Sosie Bacon, gave us a sneak peek of her father’s frantic reaction in a hilarious Instagram video.
Kevin Bacon’s Daughter Found The Perfect Way To Describe His Bee Attack
Bacon shared the now-viral video on Instagram on Thursday after asking his daughter to recreate the wild “beesting dance” he performed while trying to escape the aggressive swarm. Although Sosie did not film the actual attack, Bacon admitted he still wanted fans to understand just how chaotic the moment became.
“Now, it was very nice of my daughter not to take out her phone and start videoing this epic beesting dance that I was doing,” he said. “But I asked her if there was any way that she could recreate it from memory.”
The video then cuts to Sosie hilariously acting out the terrifying moment from home. “There’s bees in there,” she said. Sosie then dramatically flailed her arms and legs while pretending invisible bees surrounded her.
She even ripped off her baseball cap and struggled to pull off her sweatshirt mid-panic, perfectly recreating Kevin Bacon’s desperate attempt to escape the swarm.
Bacon Reveals How The Horrifying Hive Attack Happened
Alongside the hilarious reenactment, Kevin Bacon also explained how the painful bee attack happened. The actor added, “Scoot was in the front, Sosie was in the middle, and I was holding up the rear,” Bacon detailed on Instagram on Thursday. “Scoot points out to the left that there’s a beehive over there, and Sosie says, ‘Dad, hey, there’s a beehive, watch out.‘”

Even though everyone noticed the hive, the bees somehow ignored both Sosie and McNairy and aggressively swarmed Bacon instead. The Footloose star joked that the insects must have held a grudge against him personally.
“So these bees, they must not have liked my work or something, ’cause they left the two of them alone and they went full-on after me,” the Footloose star recalled. “‘Let’s attack KB.’ Bees stinging me everywhere, including underneath my shirt.”
The actor described the situation as complete chaos while he desperately tried to escape the stings. Although painful at the time, the incident eventually turned into a hilarious family memory thanks to Sosie’s dramatic recreation.
