‘Modern Family‘ is one of the very few new sitcoms that has made it to being one of the iconic shows with a huge fan following which further increased even after its finale aired. While the star cast of the show has been propelled to stardom because of the show, some of them still have hopes to find a place in a sequel. However, it has been reiterated that the chances of a reboot for the show are quite low.
But there’s always a silver lining, and for the show’s fans, it’s none other than Sarah Hyland, who has recently opened up about her excitement about the idea of a ‘Modern Family’ reboot. Here’s what she said.
Sarah Hyland Says She Would Like To See Where Her ‘Modern Family’ Character Haley’s Career Turns Out In A Reboot
Sarah Hyland was speaking with PEOPLE at the 2024 Drama Desk Awards on Monday, when she revealed that she still holds hopes to revive her character, Haley Dunphy, from ‘Modern Family‘. Sarah said she would love to explore what comes next in the career of her character Haley, who has had quite an impressive story as well as character arc on the show.
“I would want to see a script first,” Hyland said. “Creatively, I’d want to know what’s happening with Haley. I want to see her career and creativity flourish. I’d love to see her balance both,” she added.
Sarah Hyland played Haley Dunphy for all 11 seasons of ‘Modern Family’. By the end of the series in 2020, Haley was juggling her career with motherhood to newborn twins.
“I’d love to see Haley achieve what Claire [Dunphy] did — being an amazing mother and a successful businesswoman and CEO,” Hyland said. “I want to see that creative side of Haley come back. So, yeah, I don’t know,” she added.

‘Modern Family’ Cast Has Stayed Well In Touch Even After The Show Concluded
Sarah Hyland’s comments about a possible reboot came shortly after her former co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Instagram Stories post last month, wherein he posted pictures of the Dunphy family home set, which had also sparked speculation among the fans.
When asked about reuniting with the cast, Hyland said, “Yes. I love Modern Family so much. I love the cast with my entire heart and soul. Jesse and I are very close, and our families vacation together. I would love to be back with everyone.”
In November 2023, the cast had their first ‘Modern Family’ cast reunion organized by Sofía Vergara at her home. Hyland also attended the event as was seen in the photos posted by Vergara on Instagram. Other cast members of the show, including Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez, Ed O’Neill, and Nolan Gould, were also seen in the picture, although Ty Burrell was absent.
