As the presidential elections approach, Hollywood’s interest in politics is at an all-time high. Be it Amber Rose supporting Donald Trump through her Instagram, or ‘The Apprentice‘ director Ali Abbasi calling for the need for political films, Hollywood’s got it all! Joining the list is Cardi B, who has expressed her disappointment with the current political landscape in the United States.
The singer has commented on the potential rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Though she has been politically active in the past, Cardi B’s stance on the upcoming elections has caused quite a stir. Here’s what she said.
Cardi B Slams Joe Biden Government, Says She Does Not Plan On Voting This Year
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Cardi B clarified that she has decided not to vote in the upcoming election because she is dissatisfied with both competing candidates, Donald Trump and Joe Biden. “I don’t f— with both of y’all n—-s,” Cardi B said of Biden and Trump during the interview in her signature sweary lingo.
The rapper has been politically aware and had even endorsed Biden ahead of the 2020 election. She was also seen participating in political conversations with figures like Senator Bernie Sanders and Biden himself. However, Cardi has clarified that she has felt “layers and layers of disappointment” from the administration over the years.
“I feel like people got betrayed,” she said, citing issues like the high cost of living, low wages, as well as the ongoing wars in Gaza and Ukraine. “It’s just like, damn, y’all not caring about nobody,” she said, adding, “Then, it really gets me upset that there is solutions to it. There is a solution. I know there’s a solution because you’re spending billions of dollars on any f—ing thing.”

Cardi B Says She Is Scared Of Expressing Her Political Opinions In Public And Through Her Music
Though she did not directly address the ongoing war in Gaza, Cardi B said she is concerned about the potential backlash and being “blackballed” if they were to speak out against certain issues. “[America] don’t pay for endless wars for countries that have been going through s— for a very long time,” Cardi said.
“There’s countries [where] kids are getting killed every single day, but because the [U.S.] won’t benefit from that country, they won’t help. I don’t like that America has this superhero cape on. We never did things to be superheroes. We did things for our own convenience,” she added.
The apprehension has also restricted her from expressing herself both in public and in her music. “I love talking about politics and everything,” she had told 360 with Speedy back in March. “I don’t even want to talk about it anymore because I’m just so afraid of just getting dragged every single f—ing day. Like, I’m tired.”
Cardi B’s political activism has been an important aspect of her public persona. In 2022, she told David Letterman on his Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction that she uses her platform to speak out on political issues, even though she doesn’t incorporate many political themes into her music.
