Despite her success with ‘Yellowjackets,’ Sophie Thatcher says she is happy to say goodbye to the show and her character Natalie. During a virtual interview with Variety, the actress admitted that the desire to move to something new isn’t a sign of dissatisfaction with her performance or with the show’s writing.

On the contrary, the actress, who is currently in Vancouver filming the show’s fourth and final season, claims that she is tired of playing the same person. “I personally feel a bit stunted having to play the same character,” he said.
“And I’m relying on a lot of—I keep saying this, and it’s not necessarily true, maybe it’s just acting—cheat codes. Last night, filming until 6 a.m., screaming and crying, the fact that I can get into that so fast without any…It feels less challenging.”
Furthermore, the actor admits that there is another difficulty associated with portraying her past self. According to her, it gets confusing to stay in a place where she first filmed the pilot seven years ago. And that’s what messed with her the most.
“I want to continue to grow, but then I have to go back to where I was when I was a kid,” she added. At the time of this interview, Thatcher had just three days left on the schedule. She couldn’t hold back her excitement, saying, “…and then I’m free. Freeeeeee!!” she said. Meanwhile, the actress is gearing up for a big release this month.

Sophie Thatcher is playing a lead role in Nicolas Winding Refn’s directorial debut after eight years, ‘Her Private Hell.’ Slated for a July 24 domestic release, it follows Elle, a glamorous movie star. The character must navigate futuristic neo-Tokyo amid a mysterious serial killer called the Leather Man.

Additionally, the supporting cast includes Kristine Froseth, Charles Melton, Dougray Scott, and Havana Rose Liu. The early reception to ‘Her Private Hell’ has been quite controversial, but Thatcher doesn’t consider it a problem.
In fact, she is proud to have taken part in such an unusual movie that may polarize viewers. “I loved it. I don’t want it to be exclusive, but it does feel like it is kind of for an audience that, if you know these ‘70s films and you know some of the references it’s pulling from, it feels so satisfying and gratifying.”
“That’s how I felt watching it because anything ‘70s horror, like Brian De Palma, Kenneth Anger, is so in my wheelhouse. It’s a lot weirder and more avant-garde and abstract than people are expecting because the storyline isn’t linear at all.”
In her view, sometimes, one must look beyond their conditioning and immerse themselves in an experience without caring what may happen next. Comparing the project to a “trip,” she thinks the movie is gaining different viewpoints because it’s leaving a mark on people.
