Steve Carell, from Massachusetts, started as a USPS mail carrier. He first worked in television for ABC’s ‘The Dana Carvey Show’. Later, he worked in many minor roles and guest appearances in TV shows like ‘Come To Papa’, ‘Over The Top’, and ‘Watching Ellie’. However, he gained recognition as the correspondent for ‘The Daily Show’. He worked with an entertaining news program from 1999 to 2005.

After exiting ‘The Daily Show‘, Steve took up the role of the regional manager, Michael Scott in ‘The Office’. Carell received six Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his role as Michael. In 2011, he took leave from the comedy sitcom but in 2013 returned for a special appearance. His last episode on the show “Goodbye Michael” left many teary-eyed.

On being asked about his return to the show Carell commented, “I’ll tell you, no… The show is way more popular now than when it was on the air. I just can’t see it being the same thing, and I think most folks would want it to be the same thing, but it wouldn’t be. Ultimately, I think it’s maybe best to leave well enough alone and just let it exist as what it was…I just wouldn’t want to make the mistake of making a less good version of it. The odds wouldn’t be in its favor, in terms of it recapturing exactly what it was, the first time.”

He also appeared on ‘The Patient‘, which is a psychological thriller limited series.
