James Gunn is still filming ‘Man of Tomorrow’, but early reactions from someone close to the project are already raising expectations.
Gunn’s wife, Jennifer Holland, who plays Emilia Harcourt in the DC Universe, has shared that she has seen a significant amount of the upcoming film and she’s sure it’s going to be a special one.
Jennifer Holland Believes ‘Man Of Tomorrow’ Raises The Bar

Fans will have to wait until the sequel is released in 2027. However, Holland’s comments indicate that the sequel will take the game to the next level, while also continuing to build upon what Gunn did with ‘Superman’. When asked about the movie, Holland said she had seen quite a bit of ‘Man of Tomorrow’.

“It is different. I don’t wanna say this. Ugh. It might be James’s best my favorite movie of James, and I haven’t even seen the whole thing yet. I’m just. I love the movie. I’m really excited about it. It feels like a step up to me in a lot of ways. I’m excited for people to see it, and he’s not done filming it yet,” she told Gamesradar.
That’s impressive given Holland’s list of movies includes critically acclaimed films like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, which she previously called one of her favorites. She also referred to the sequel as “a step up” in a few different ways. She believes that Gunn is taking his new DC Universe to a higher, more ambitious level.
The comments, of course, are from someone who is very close to the filmmaker. But they also provide a positive sign of confidence in the production.
‘Man Of Tomorrow’ May Be A DCU Landmark

The sequel will bring back David Corenswet’s Superman and Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor, with Brainiac being the main antagonist of the story. The movie is also rumored to include Milly Alcock’s Supergirl, which will tie together the expanding DC universe.

It’s also been rumoured that Holland might return as Emilia Harcourt. However, nothing has been confirmed. If she does come back, it would follow the narrative of a series of interconnected stories that Gunn has been developing, like ‘Peacemaker’ and ‘Creature Commandos’.
The film is still in production, and reactions from people involved with a project aren’t the same as audience or critic reviews. Despite this, Holland’s excitement is based on a deep conviction that Gunn is producing something more substantial than its predecessor.
‘Man of Tomorrow’ is still over a year away, but the anticipation is increasing. If the finished product matches up to Holland’s words, it could be another major leap forward for the DC Universe as it continues to find its footing under the creative direction of James Gunn.
