Nick Bollea has revealed that his father, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, was eager for his ex-wife, Linda Hogan, to be involved in an upcoming Netflix docuseries about his life prior to his passing in July 2025.
The four-part series, Hulk Hogan: Real American, is set to premiere on April 22 on Netflix and features Hogan’s final on-camera interview. The WWE icon, born Terry Gene Bollea, died at the age of 71 after suffering a heart attack at his home in Clearwater.
According to Nick, his father felt Linda’s inclusion was vital to telling his complete story. “My dad really wanted her to be a part of this because she was such a tremendously huge part of his life,” Bollea says.
Linda Hogan, who divorced Hogan in 2009 after more than 25 years of marriage, ultimately agreed to take part in the project. Bollea noted that she was initially uncertain. “I think my mom at first was a little bit hesitant, because she just didn’t want to get mixed up and stuff,” he says.

The former couple, along with their children, previously starred in the VH1 reality series Hogan Knows Best, which aired from 2005 to 2007 and concluded the same year Linda filed for divorce.
Nick Bollea Says Parents Reconciled Before Hulk Hogan’s Death

Before Hulk Hogan’s death in July 2025, Nick Bollea said his parents had rebuilt a cordial relationship. Both attended Nick’s 2025 wedding, where Hogan served as the best man.
Nick explained, “My mom was there cheering us on, and they were in a good spot, and they had open communication, and they were friendly with each other. They got through a lot of the turmoil of what came after the divorce.”
Director Bryan Storkel says Linda Hogan’s involvement adds depth to the series. Her contribution includes extensive personal footage that highlights Hogan’s private life. Storkel said, “She ended up having some 40 hours of home video where you could just see [Hogan] with Nick and in the home, in diapers, rolling around with him.”
He added, “You finally get to see him being a dad and living a human life as opposed to just a character on the screen.”
