James Gunn has been making several changes in the DC studio ever since he was installed as the co-chairman and co-CEO along with Peter Safran. He has shelved multiple projects and has greenlit many new ones. Gunn’s currently working on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.’

A Racist Troll Slammed The Casting Of ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’
James Gunn is working with the Marvel Studio for one last time with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘. He has since jumped ships and is now the co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios.
Recently, an Instagram user wrote a lengthy comment on his photo, slamming the film’s casting. “Damnit… another white guy they made into a black guy,” they wrote. Further, asking why couldn’t they just let him be white or make him Latino or Asian.
“Or make him an Indian or something… because they don’t and won’t, that makes them ‘woke‘, the comment read. They also said that next time, we might see “a major character (hero/villain) will be a trans or homosexual or non-binary.”

Gunn Clapped Back At The Troll
In response, the ‘Peacemaker’ director wrote: “I chose the best actor, period, and the best person for the role. I don’t give a shit what ethnicity @chukwudi_iwuji is, so stop with your racist presumptions on WHY he was chosen. (And, by the way, he’s playing a guy who’s almost always purple in the color.)”
Previously, Gunn worked with Iwuji on the HBO Max series ‘Peacemaker‘, which was a spin-off of ‘The Suicide Squad‘ film. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘ is slated to release theatrically on May 5.
Last month, Gunn announced DC’s Chapter 1 titled ‘Gods and Monsters‘ in which several films and television shows were announced for the upcoming years.
