    ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ Producer Chris Miller Opens Up About Losing To ‘The Boy And The Heron’ At The Oscars

    Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘ took its audience by storm when it was released in the theaters. People were mesmerized by the animation and the character arcs of all the characters. The animated masterpiece held up an 8.5 IMDB rating. Moreover, it was also rated 95% on Rotten Tomatoes making the movie loved by both critics and the audience.

    The movie won several huge awards including the Critics Choice award for Best Animated Film. It further won several Annie awards for its immaculate soundtracks and animations. Furthermore, it wasn’t a surprise to its audience that the movie was nominated for the Oscars under the category ‘Best-Animated Feature Film’.

    Chris Miller Takes The Oscar Loss Like A Champ

    The much-awaited 96th Academy Awards concluded on March 11th, 2024. However, it wasn’t pleasant for the ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘ fans. The fans undoubtedly believed that the movie should’ve won the category it was nominated under. However, it wasn’t the case as it lost to another great animated movie ‘The Boy and The Heron’. Furthermore, A lot of other celebrities like Margot Robbie also did not win leaving fans infuriated.

    Despite the loss getting bashed by the Across The Spider-Verse fans, the producer of the animated masterpiece Chris Miller took it like a champ. Chris, via X, shared a one-line remark for the loss and said, “Well, if you’re gonna lose, might as well lose to the GOAT”. People were quick to praise Chris for taking such a heartbreaking loss so well.

    Shameik Moore, the voice actor of the lead animated character of Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse took the loss very differently than Miller. Moore on X stated that according to him the movie was robbed. People were quick to bash Shameik for being a ‘sore loser’ which led to him clarifying things.

    He said, “Respect to the winners. It’s true, I’m definitely a sore loser, but we didn’t lose, Spiderverse has impacted A LOT of lives, we may not have been acknowledged tonight but life goes on, and BEYOND….. yea get ready.”

    He then acknowledged people criticizing him for his outburst and added “Your right, honestly the whole Spider-Verse team are such good sports. Very professional and I’m excited to see what comes of this. I’m young, and a fighter, so forgive my nature. Congrats to the winners.”
