12 Hollywood Things To Look Forward To In 2023

December is almost ending and it feels like it was just yesterday that January started and we were drooling over The Weeknd’s Dawn FM. We’ve certainly had a brilliant year, thanks to Taylor Swift’s surprise album, Messi bringing glory for Argentina, lots of Zendaya on the big screen, and tons of new TikTok trends. Now, all we can do is hope for a better 2023.

Now as the year comes to a close, here are twelve things (and a few more honorable mentions) that we are looking forward to in 2023 in Hollywood.

January

Movie buffs have a brilliant way to kick off the year because the Golden Globes Awards will be held on the 11th of January. The nomination list looks pretty good, including Ana de Armas for ‘Blonde‘, Austin Butler for ‘Elvis’, and Margot Robbie for ‘Babylon’. The nomination list also includes Taylor Swift for her song ‘Carolina‘ for ‘Where The Crawdads Sing‘, Selena Gomez for ‘Only Murders In The Building’, and Jenna Ortega for ‘Wednesday’. Comedian Jerrod Carmichael is hosting the 2023 Golden Globes.

Honorable Mention: The Sundance Film Festival is being held from 19th January to 29th January. The January month is a win-win for all the movie buffs out there!

February

For February we’ll have the highly anticipated ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ hitting the theatres on 17th February. We’ll be seeing Kang The Conqueror once again, along with Paul Rudd and of course, Evangeline Lilly. The movie will be a part of Marvel’s Phase 5.

Honorable Mention

The 65th Annual Grammy’s will be held on 5th February 2023. Trevor Noah is returning as its host for the third time. Beyoncé is leading the 2023 Grammys with nine nominations. The Grammy Awards will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

March

March is perhaps the most awaited month for Swifties all around the world. Taylor is finally going to tour after a painful break of five years. The Eras Tour, which will be a tour consisting of all her eras-starting from her debut Taylor Swift to the latest ‘Midnights’, will be held from March 17th. Taylor has released tour dates for certain cities and has also released a star-studded feature list that includes artists like Gracie Abrams, girl in red, and beabadoobee.

Honorable Mention

The 95th Academy Awards will be held on the 12th of March at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The nomination list is already spiking the interest of the fans.

April

The Walking Dead‘ series finale went off on November 2022, and now we are awaiting the spinoffs to the series. ‘Walking Dead: Dead City‘ will premiere in April 2023 and will be based on Maggie and Negan, after the events of ‘The Walking Dead‘ finale.

May

Disney’s highly anticipated live-action musical fantasy movie ‘The Little Mermaid‘ will release in May 2023. The film stars Halle Bailey as Ariel and Jonah Hauer King as Prince Eric. The film will be based on its 1989 animated version by Disney.

Honorable Mention

Guardians Of The Galaxy 3‘ will come out on May 5. After their time spent traveling with Thor, the third Guardians film will focus on offering a conclusion to the personal storylines of its primary characters.

June

Marvel’s animated film ‘Across the Spiderverse‘ which is a sequel to the 2018 movie ‘Into The Spiderverse‘ will be released on June 2023. Shameik Moore is voicing Miles Morales aka Spiderman and Hailee Steinfield is voicing Gwen Stacy aka Spiderwoman.

July

Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie‘ might just be the most awaited movie of the year. A live-action adaptation of the fashion doll line by Mattel, the movie will be the first feature film, following countless animated versions of it. The film stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken.

Honorable Mention: The Marvels release on July 28, 2023. It will feature Brie Larson as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel among many others.

Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesMutant Mayhem‘ directed by Jeff Rowe and Kyler Spears is a much-anticipated CG-animated film. We are super excited for this reboot of the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ movie franchise. Superhero action awaits!

September

Warner Bros Studios’ second installment of ‘The Nun‘ series will premiere on the 8th of September 2023. The film will feature Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene and Bonnie Aarons as The Nun. The gothic supernatural film will see Sister Irene encountering the demon Valak aka The Nun once again.

October

The direct sequel to the 1992 animated series of the same name is set to premiere on September 2023. The details of the sequel were released at the San Diego comic con 2022. Many old voices are returning for the sequel. More information regarding the reboot might be announced soon.

November

After the massive success of the first film, Timothee Chalamet’s Paul Atreides is set to return for a second movie. The second film will release on the 3rd of November 2023. The second movie will cover the second half of the book of the same name which the movies are adapted from. Zendaya’s Chani will return as Paul’s love interest, along with the rest of the cast.

December

More Timothee Chalamet? Yes! Based on Willy Wonka’s early days as a chocolatier, the film will be a prequel to Roald Dahl’s Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. Chalamet will play a young Willy Wonka. The movie will release on December 15th, 2023.
