‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ fans received some great news just a few days back. The franchise is getting a reboot and most probably a spin-off too. More excitingly, Margot Robbie might feature in the spin-off. To add the cherry on top, Austin Butler has also shown his interest in starring in the film.
Butler talked about it while promoting his new film, ‘The Bikeriders’. Undoubtedly, he is one of Hollywood’s most versatile and talented actors. It will be quite interesting seeing him in the movie where Johnny Depp has left some very tough shoes to fill.
Will Austin Butler Star In The ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Reboot?
Online rumors have been suggesting that the ‘Dune 2’ star will be part of the ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ reboot. The rumors even stated that Disney has been wanting to work with Butler for years and wanted to cast him in ‘Hercules‘. And so in his interview with Nischelle Turner, the question was popped to him.
However, Austin Butler revealed that he did not have any knowledge of this but he is open to the idea. “Oh really, I haven’t heard about that,” he told in an interview with ET, adding, “I loved Pirates of the Caribbean.” The 32-year-old actor shared that the franchise was one of the earliest films he watched and loved.

Austin Butler Loves ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’
As an actor, there is always one or the other film that inspires that person in their childhood. For Austin Butler, it was the Johnny Depp starrer. “That just reminded me of when I was a kid,” he said. “In elementary school, we had to make these posters that had like your favorite music, your favorite actors. And at that time – I don’t know what grade, it must have been fourth grade, third grade or something – but it was — Pirates of the Caribbean was on there.”
So it seems that Butler is pretty excited to be part of the reboot if he gets the chance. However, he does have some hesitancy. And that is purely out of love and respect for Depp and his childhood favorite movie. “It’s a hard one to touch because they did it so well,” Butler said. “I loved what Johnny [Depp] did with that.” We cannot agree more with him. Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow is one of his career’s most significant roles and he did justice to the pirate.
