In recent times, many artists’ concerts have had heartwarming videos of the security personnel having a great time at their job by joining the crowd in a sing-along. During Kendrick Lamar‘s 2022 tour, a security guard was caught on camera crying while mouthing the lyrics of the artist’s ‘Love’ from 2017’s ‘DAMN.’

A similar incident happened at Taylor Swift‘s ‘Eras Tour’ concert, where a security person from Minneapolis, Calvin Decker, bagged a job as a security guard during the ‘Eras Tour.’

Calvin Decker, who got the best summer job, was seen mouthing the lyrics of Swift’s 2019 hit ‘Cruel Summer’ during the U.S. Bank Stadium show of the ‘Eras Tour.’ After the video went viral, in a TikTok video, he talked about how he asked concertgoers to click a picture of him with the artist as he had to keep an eye on the audience.

In the TikTok video, Calvin said, “After night one, I was realizing how close Taylor Swift was getting to me, so I really wanted to get a photo to document it.”

Decker continued, “So I handed down these little pieces of paper that said I wasn’t allowed to have my phone out, but if Taylor Swift comes right behind me, please take a photo of me and text it to my number. And I handed this out to a couple of people in the front row for night two, and they were really kind and really sweet about it.”

Best Crowd Management is the security company that hired Calvin Decker for the job at Taylor Swift’s concert. However, the company has fired their employee for violating the policy of not taking pictures with the artist. Decker claims that the security company took notice of him passing the notes to the audience and asking them to take a picture.

The Swiftie narrated what went down with the company. He said, “The HR woman who called me wasn’t able to articulate exactly what I did wrong because I didn’t do anything beyond asking for photos, which is what happens at any other concert, with the only exception being that I made sure I got any that I was included in.”

He added, “Every photo of me from that night was from behind the barricade, like any other photo from a fan would be. I never took my own phone out. And above all else, I made sure that Taylor Swift was safe and all the fans had a good time. As long as I was at that concert, I was doing my job. Despite getting fired, Decker has asked his followers not to send hate to the company, and he holds “no grudges” against his employer.
