Arizona State University Announces A New Course Titled ‘Psychology Of Taylor Swift ‘

It’s Taylor Swift‘s world, and we are just living in it! After adding a million-dollar tour, record-breaking music, a literature degree dedicated to her name, and an honorary mayor badge to her name, Ms. Swift is now going to be studied as a subject of psychology.

This time Arizona State University has joined the list of universities having a Taylor Swift-themed degree. The University revealed their special fall course where they will be studying Swift’s psychology. Here’s what will be included in the course.

The course, according to an announcement from ASU, is titled “Psychology of Taylor Swift – Advanced Topics of Social Psychology.” Themes from Swift’s popular songs, also family, friends, fame, and others, will be used to inspire the course.

According to ASU, students can enroll in the course for the upcoming fall semester. The course will be taught by Alexandra Wormley, who hopes that it will encourage discussion and serve as a tool for learning psychological ideas. The website where it was announced calls it ‘a swift approach to learning Psychology’.

“The course is basically using Taylor Swift as a semester-long example of different phenomena — gossip, relationships, revenge,” said Wormley about the course. She also revealed that the course is “not a fan club meeting.” but rather an attempt to study the psychology behind Taylor and her albums.

Quite a lot actually. As part of the university’s “Italic 99” classes earlier this year, Stanford University presented a course named “All Too Well (Ten Week Version)”. The course delved in-depth into Swift’s song, ‘All Too Well‘.

At its Clive Davis Institute, New York University also provided a course on Swift last year. The lesson covered how to appreciate and participate in music. It also talked about how her songwriting has shaped who she is as a person. Rolling Stone’s Brittany Spanos was the instructor.

A brand-new literature course on the literary value of Taylor Swift’s discography is also being offered by Ghent University in Belgium. Students will have access to “Literature: Taylor’s Version” in the fall. The course is a collection of works chosen by assistant professor Elly McCausland. The course pays honor to the musician’s re-recorded album titles.
