After separating from most of his big clients, Scooter Braun has decided to step down as music manager to focus on his career as HYBE’s CEO and to put more efforts into his family.
The music mogul managed stars like Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Justin Bieber. However the biggest highlight of his career was his very public feud with Taylor Swift after he bought her masters and publicly shamed for it. Here’s everything you need to know about his retirement.

Scooter Braun’s Retirement
After an accomplished career of 23 years, Scooter Braun is stepping down as music manager and will now be just focusing on his career as the CEO of HYBE.
Posting an emotional post on Instagram, Braun wrote, “I have been blessed to have had a ‘Forrest Gump’-like life while witnessing and taking part in the journeys of some of the most extraordinarily talented people the world has ever seen. I’m constantly pinching myself and asking ‘how did I get here?’ And after 23 years this chapter as a music manager has come to an end.”
He then adds, “But as my children got older, and my personal life took some hits, I came to the realization that my kids were 3 superstars I wasn’t willing to lose. The sacrifices I was once willing to make I could no longer justify. It was time to step into a new role. [He] has a vision I truly believe in. But even beyond that he has become a true friend who understands where I must be in my life these days. And that is a father first, a CEO second, and a manager no more.”
He also said that the thought of leaving his career as a manager has been on his mind ever since “one of my biggest clients and friends told me that they wanted to spread their wings and go in a new direction.”

Why Did All The Major Stars Drop Scooter Braun As Their Manager?
Though many have speculated that severed ties to artists like Ariana and Justin have compelled him to leave his managership, other sources have added that it’s because he’s focusing on his career at HYBE more.
Braun just took on the role of CEO of HYBE America, a brand-new division of the Korean talent agency that brought BTS together. Braun is probably working on SB Projects less now that he has a new role.
From his side he has ensured that he is on good terms with his ex clients and that there are no bad feelings on either. As of now, Ariana has already started working under a new manager and it’s likely that Justin Bieber too will find a new label.
