Actions are louder than words proving the recent Twitter activity of the new CEO Elon Musk. Twitter had been in flux since he acquired the platform. Musk has reiterated his new vision to revamp the company on many occasions. Even before he completed the deal, Elon has been pushing and promoting the need to maintain the sanctity of freedom of speech on the microblogging site. He said that “free speech” is the “bedrock of democracy”, but there were a few actions that contradicted it like Jack Sweeney and his @elonjet account suspension.
Elon Musk posted a video of a stalker following his son Lil X in Los Angeles on December 14th, 2022. After he posted the video, he suspended the accounts of the Californian student Jack Sweeney. Sweeney has launched accounts that followed the private jets of billionaires including Elon Musk. Due to the stalking incident, he suspended his accounts that tracked the private jets in real time. However, Twitter restored his account. Now, Jack Sweeney is back with a new account that will update the tracking information of private jets but in a delayed manner. But, it will be difficult to find his new account.

Elon Musk-Led Twitter Has Shadow Banned Jack Sweeney’s Private Jet Account
Elon Musk is aiding two independent journalists in an exposé to reveal the controversial behind-the-scenes activity of Twitter previously. On December 8th, one of the journalists, Bari Weiss, released a new report in their ‘Twitter Files’ series titled ‘Twitter’s Secret Blacklists’. In the report, she exposed Twitter, which shadow-banned certain accounts and reduced its visibility on the trending and search sections.
Now, Twitter, after Musk’s takeover has shadow-banned Jack Sweeney’s new private jet-tracking account. The young student used to track the private jets of billionaires using ‘Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast’ to track them in real-time via @elonmuskjet. But, after getting suspended and now restored, Jack has created another account @ElonJetNextDay. In an interview with The Post, he revealed that he will continue with what he used to do, but now, Jack will update the jet information after 24 hours.
This is because Elon Musk said, “Any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation. This includes posting links to sites with real-time location info. Posting locations someone traveled to on a slightly delayed basis isn’t a safety problem, so is ok”. Jack also told the news outlet that the account is “search banned”. Due to sensitive information like the user’s location, Twitter has shadow-banned his account.

Jack Sweeney Did Not Expect The Twitter Suspension
Twitter suspended Jack Sweeney’s account on November 7th, 2022 for flouting Twitter’s rules. However, Elon Musk, to continue his mission to restore free speech, said, “My commitment to free speech extends even to not banning the account following my plane, even though that is a direct personal safety risk”. Nevertheless, Elon Musk and Twitter suspended his account and they did not restore his account.
After he was suspended, in an interview with BuzzFeed, he assured, “Now I’m going to keep going on forever. I guess I can’t let him win now”. On his new tracking account, he informed that Elon Musk traveled from Austin, Texas to Oakland on December 21st, 2022 in a three-hour and 20-minute flight in his GLF6 jet.
