Tom Hiddleston quoted playwright George Bernard during an interview with Backstage Magazine as he opened up about his last few shots on the sets of ‘Loki‘ the show. “Loki is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as I can before passing it on to future generations,” he said.

It was a long tenure for Hiddleston, and he is deeply attached to the character. It came full circle for him while shooting the final scenes of ‘Loki Season 2‘. The character who once was a villain, is now holding the multiverse together.

When Tom was preparing for his final shots of the episode, co-director Aaron Moorhead had a suggestion for Tom. Speaking about the same, he revealed, “He said to me, ‘Why don’t you go back, if you can bear it, and watch some of your work [over] the last 15 years? Take it in, see what it means to you, and then carry it when you step out onto the stage.

The ‘Avengers’ cast is a family of some brilliant actors. Tom, during the shooting of the final scenes of ‘Loki‘, would re-watch the clips of ‘Thor’ and Avengers movies to recall their friendship.

“I thought, what Loki is doing, he is doing for his friends. And so, Tom, why don’t you do it for your friends?” Hiddleston recalled thinking. “That’s where the two of us met at that moment. And then I was so grateful I had this most amazing crew, and we did it together.”

He admitted to getting nostalgic about the “beautiful prologue” of Thor movie. “Only one of you can ascend to the throne, but both of you were born to be kings,” he said, adding, “There’s a poetic melancholy there which I found very moving.”

Even though Loki had started as an anti-hero, he got the perfect ending to his story. Hiddleston said he is also happy with his character’s story arc. “I’ve been delighted to find that for a character of such stature, he’s remarkably human. Many of the characteristics that people connect to in Loki are deeply human feelings. That’s been the pleasure, is infusing this elevated character with humanity,” he said.
