Queen Elizabeth Demanded The Retention Of Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Security In 2020

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are completely ousted from the royal family due to their malignant behavior towards the family. When the couple stepped back from their royal duties in 2020, they went on a spree to taint the public image of the family. Harry and Meghan decided to step back from their royal duties due to constant attacks from the royal media and ill-treatment from the royal family.

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal duties, they lost many privileges, including special security in the UK. The government and the royal family decided to strip off the couple’s security in the UK. Harry challenged the decision of the government but lost the bid. However, the Duke of Sussex has yet again challenged the decision in the High Court, and in a letter written by Queen Elizabeth II, it is revealed that she wanted to retain their security.

Currently, Prince Harry has been following up on the several lawsuits and appeals he made in court. One of them was the libel lawsuit that Harry filed after the Daily on Sunday wrote an article in 2020 about the battle between the family and the government to retain security in 2020.

During the trial, a private letter from Queen Elizabeth II’s secretary, Sir Edward Young, was read, in which the late monarch endorsed providing security to the couple in the UK.

The letter was written to the UK cabinet secretary, Sir Mark Sedwill, after the Sandringham Summit. In the letter, Queen Elizabeth II wrote, “You will understand well that ensuring that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain safe is of paramount importance to Her Majesty and her family.”

The letter further read, “Given the duke’s public profile by virtue of being born into the royal family, his military service, the duchess’s own independent profile and the well-documented history of targeting of the Sussex family by extremists, it is imperative that the family continues to be provided with effective security.”

Prince Harry filed a lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) after the Daily on Sunday newspaper wrote an article about betraying the public by hiding the silent battle between the family and the government over retaining private security in the UK.

However, Justice Matthew Nicklin has upheld the ANL’s argument that the article about Prince Harry did not cause any serious harm to his reputation. The judge said that they had a “real prospect of succeeding”. Prince Harry is ordered to pay $60,000 worth of legal fees to the newspaper outlet by December 29, 2023.
