In Which Episode Of ‘Modern Family’ Did Catherine O’Hara Appear?

‘Modern Family became an integral part of the American sitcom experience for all seasons and was also loved outside the US! It encapsulated the reality of a family—how can we get annoyed, loved, and distant at the same time? It is about family, and it is about love, which is what the show stood for. During its run, it had several cameos, and Catherine O’Hara was one of the special guests on the show.

The Canadian actress Catherine O’Hara became a household name in the US with the ‘Home Alone’ films. She played Macaulay Culkin’s mother in the first two films. Years later, she again became a star when she played Moira Rose on the hit sitcom ‘Schitt’s Creek’. While she was playing Moira, Catherine appeared as Dr. Deborah Radcliffe, who helps the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker family clean up their emotional junk!

Pritchett-Tucker-Dunphy couples decide to have a therapy session to let their emotions out after Gloria wins a session with a renowned therapist, Dr. Deborah Radcliffe. As usual, Claire, Jay, and Mitch are reluctant to be in the couple’s therapy, and on the other hand, Cam, Gloria, and Phil are enthusiastic about it.

The madness unfolds when Dr. Deborah, played by Catherine O’Hara, asks everyone to play the game of ‘Tiger Rockstar Bunny’. Phil thinks that she is asking them to kill, marry, and hook up one each. Then, Radcliffe asks the couple to be one with each other and let the trauma get out of their system. Mitch tells Cam to keep it low-key; Claire thinks therapy is a competition; and Jay wants an out as he wants to enjoy his Sunday football.

Once Dr. Deborah asks everyone to write down the things that drive them crazy about their partners, Cam and Mitch tell Phil to write about Claire’s ‘Me likey’ phrase of approval. This creates more confusion and complexity until everyone gets the junk out of them, with Jay taking the last piece as he gets into a monologue about how, despite his father being harsh and mean in his ways of parenthood, he loved him.

After six blissful seasons, ‘Schitt’s Creek’ bid adieu to the fans with one of the happiest, teary endings. The series swept most of the awards in the comedy category during the 2020 Emmy Awards.

After the final season, there has been chatter about a reboot, reunion, or a spin-off of ‘Schitt’s Creek’. Both Eugene Levy and Dan Levy have spoken about a possible spin-off of the series. Catherine O’Hara said, “I would love to. We did a bit of a tour after we finished the show, and it was so much fun. I’d love to just be with them all again. Making a movie would be wonderful. Yeah, I hope it happens.” She also extended her gratitude towards Dan and Eugene Levy for “giving me that role, or giving me that opportunity to develop the role with them and to collaborate.”
