“Let’s F***ing Leave It As Is”: Seth Rogan Confirms ‘Superbad’ Sequel Will Never Happen

Superbad is a teenage high school-based movie that follows the lives of two inseparable friends. While fans would love to have a sequel, it seems like the duo behind the movie, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, want to keep it untouched and not work on a second part.

Both Goldberg and Rogan feel that some movies should be left the way they are and ‘Superbad‘ is one of those movies. With the sequel of ‘Superbad‘, they also talked about the ‘Pineapple Express 2′ will be left as it is.

Evan Goldberg says that Superbad won’t be getting any sequel. Speaking to Complex, Goldberg and Seth Rogen were asked if there are movies they would like to revisit in any form. Goldberg replied: “We’re not opposed to revisiting some things, like Sausage Party. Superbad and Pineapple Express, we will not be revisiting. We will keep those safe and sound. There are a few things that are best left untouched.”

Superbad‘ was released in 2007, written by Goldberg himself who also plays a role in it with Greg Mottola as the director. It revolves around the two teenagers, who plan to lose their virginity before passing out from high school.

Pineapple Expressis another film by Rogen and Goldberg. The movie stars Rogen as Denton who runs into a marijuana dealer and witnesses a murder committed by a hitman and a corrupt police officer.

While speaking more about ‘Superbad’ in particular, Rogen said, “Let’s f***ing leave it as is. Because it’s very personal to us and based on our high school experience, it’s nice that so many people found it funny and resonated with it. It’s unexpected.”

Moreover, he also accepted that ‘Pineapple Express‘ is a much easier film to work on. But on the other hand for ‘Superbad‘, he feels that a reboot won’t work. It’s good that some directors are leaving the movies with one part rather than extending the stories unnecessarily.
