Award shows and events are one of the most common things that easily attract the attention of the public. Some of these are free and some of them need passes or tickets. Sometimes these live shows become more famous because of some unusual incidents than for the celebrities performing at the venue.
Celebrities have been attacked by some random people while they were spotted at events or performing on stage. These kinds of incidents have increased the popularity of many performers. All the incidents happened because of different reasons including political and personal. Today we will discuss some attacks that happened at popular events.

Celebrities Who Have Been Attacked On Stage
1. Dave Chappelle
Dave Chappelle was attacked by a stranger on 3 May, 2022 at a stand-up gig. When Chappelle was about to exit from the stage a random audience member climbed to the stage to tackle him. According to a source from Variety, the police arrested Isaiah Lee on that same day at 10.50 PM.
2. Chris Rock
Oscars 2022 was in the limelight because of the unusual act that happened between Will Smith and Chris Rock. The latter went on stage to present an award and cracked a joke on Jada Pinkett Smith, Will’s wife. The ‘Aladdin‘ star was unhappy with the joke and as an act of aggression, he slapped Rock on stage. Smith, even though is among Hollywood’s beloved celebrities, was eventually banned from Oscars ceremony for 10 years.
3. Christina Grimmie
Christina Grimmie was the victim of deadly attack on celebrities. She was busy signing autographs during a show in 2016 when a random man opened fire. Identified as Kevin James Loibl, the man was almost captured by Christina’s brother but Loibl shot himself in the head. Christina was hospitalized in a critical condition but she died from her injuries.
4. XXXTentacion
XXXTentacion was attacked by some assailant in 2017 while he was performing a show in San Diego. The assailant attacked the celebrity in the middle of a song. When XXXTentacion was knocked out after the attack, some other attacker climbed to the stage to kick and punch him. There were no arrests made.
5. Gigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid faced an unusual incident in 2016 while she was exiting the Max Mara show during 2016’s Milan Fashion Week. According to Seventeen, Vitalii Sediuk is the main culprit of this incident. The assailant picked up Gigi and lifted her off the ground. However, Gigi is among the fittest celebrities and was able to elbow him in the face to make him let go.

6. Selena Gomez
During a Louis Vuitton show, Selena Gomez‘s security team was trapped in between the crowd. Gomez was scared at the time but her bodyguards were trying to protect her as much as possible. According to reports, fans broke the metal barriers but Gomez was able to enter her car without any further trouble.
7. Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber is one of those celebrities who have gone through some unusual incidents that happened in their live shows. Bieber was attacked by a random male fan while he was playing piano on stage although he was lucky enough to move from the spot and ran to the side of the stage.
8. Beyoncé
Beyoncé is always very cool with the audience but in 2013 she was grabbed and dragged off stage by a wild shirtless man while performing in Brazil. However, Beyoncé being her fantastic self always, calmly managed the situation.
9. Pitbull
Miami rapper Pitbull got into an accident during a 2009 concert in Colorado. A video revealed that a fan jumped on stage and threw money on Pitbull’s face. However, he fell down after being punched by the rapper and he continued to throw money until Pitbull had to shout at him.
10. Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson was performing in South Korea in 1996 when a fan ran towards the stage and also to the crane lifting Jackson on top of the crowd. Jackson however kept his grip tight over the fan and continued to perform, ensuring that the individual was not hurt in any way.
