Anne Hathway starrer ‘The Idea Of You’ is based on Robinne Lee’s 2017 book. The story features the love story between a 40-year-old divorcée, Solène, and a relatively young 24-year-old boy, Hayes Campbell.

In the novel, Solène ends things with Hayes as her relationship with him was affecting her relationship with her daughter Isabelle. In addition to that, both were in different phases of their lives and she saw no future.

Hayes constantly tries to reach out to Solène but she ignores him. Eventually, Hayes gives up and moves forward. Fans were quite unhappy with this ending and felt there was more room. They called the ending rushed.

Later, Solène sees Hayes ‘The Graham Norton Show’. He revealed that he will be going to LA and taking some time off from his busy schedule to meet someone. Hayes visits Solène’s art gallery where they share lovely moments giving fans a better ending for the story.
