The conclusion of the school year is the period when students sign each other’s yearbooks. But what happens if no one signs it? Brody Ridder, a sixth-grader, experienced something similar. “I went up to people and I asked them, ‘Can you sign my yearbook?’ and some of them were like no,” he told KDVR.

Hope you make some more friends — Brody Ridder,” he wrote in his own yearbook. “It honestly broke my heart,” his mother Cassandra Ridder said. “And that was really hard to see and read as a mom.” She took a picture and shared it with the school’s Facebook community for parents. “I was overwhelmed with how much love and encouragement I received for Brody. It was amazing,” Cassandra Ridder told KDVR.

Some parents showed their children the post and seniors decided to help the young kid. “It’s so fun having everyone sign your yearbook and for this kid to only have people sign their names in his yearbook, it’s just soul-crushing,” Simone Lightfoot, a fellow student, told KDVR. She learned about the posting through another student Logan South, who said his family spent time talking about how they might assist. “We all just started planning that the next day we were going to go sign this kid’s yearbook,” South said.

Brody gathered over 100 signatures, which contained lines of encouragement, counsel, and even phone numbers. “It just made me feel better as a person. I don’t know how to explain it. It just makes me feel better on the inside,” he said.

“It made me feel like there’s hope for the school, there’s hope for humanity and there’s a lot of good kids in this world,” his mother told KDVR.

Paul Rudd Makes The Boy Feel Special

Paul Rudd reached out to Brody for a conversation. How sweet is that? He called him “My kinda guy” and made him feel special. The actor also expressed his desire to meet him. Paul talked about their common hobbies including chess and fencing and gave him a pep talk.

After Brody’s mother uploaded the video of their conversation on social media, kids didn’t simply just sign his yearbook, they also put in efforts to get to know him.
