Demi Moore arrived at Cannes looking like a true red-carpet star. She wore a sparkling strapless gown and quickly received praise from fans online. But as more photos and videos from the festival spread on social media, attention moved to one detail people could not stop talking about.

Moore’s slim arms became the main focus of the conversation. Some fans said they were worried, while others felt people were being too harsh about her body.

For the opening ceremony in France on May 12, Demi Moore’s stylist, Brad Goreski, shared a video of the look online, and the comments initially filled up with admiration. Rita Wilson praised the outfit and wrote, “Maybe one of my most favorites dresses on you.”

However, the tone soon shifted as several social media users began discussing Moore’s weight, especially her arms. One person asked, “Is she sick???” while another commented, “Yes, she’s gorgeous, but the extreme thinness is not something we should glamorize.” A different user wrote, “Beautiful dress, but she is too skinny,” and another added, “At this point its painful to watch. I hope she’s not sick or stressed out.”

The criticism continued as more people weighed in on her appearance, and even saying she looked like a “skeleton“. “Way to [sic] skinny,” one commenter wrote. “It’s ok to be thin. But she looks like she’s sick.” Another said, “I’ve always wanted my arms to never look like that,” while one particularly blunt comment read, “The arms always tell the truth. Can’t put Botox in them!

The Conversation Soon Turned To Ozempic Claims

The discussion grew even more intense after some readers took issue with a New York Post article that described Moore’s arms as “toned.” One person reacted strongly and wrote, “‘Toned arms’ is genuinely insane this kinda rhetoric is gonna kill people.” Another added, “They aren’t ‘toned’ they’re lacking any sort of fat and she’s wasting away and Jesus f—ing Christ this is not normal, this an undiagnosed eating disorder!

Others argued that the language around celebrity bodies can become harmful when it normalizes extreme appearances. “Toned? This is dangerous. It’s just as bad as the other side of the ‘body positivity’ movement,” one user said. “We should be encouraging health and wellness, not highlighting extreme bodies on both ends of the spectrum.”

Some commenters also began speculating about whether Moore had used Ozempic, the medication used to manage type 2 diabetes that has become widely associated with weight loss. “All I see is Ozempic,” one person wrote, while another called her the “OZEMPIC LEGEND.” A different commenter added, “Get off the Ozempic train and eat something.”

Still, not everyone supported the criticism. Several fans defended Moore and urged people to stop making assumptions about her health. “Stop shaming her! With age a lot of women loose [sic] natural weight and water. She looks beautiful!” one person wrote. Another added, “She’s not a child. Commenting on a person’s looks is just so wrong.”

Moore is not the only celebrity whose body has recently become a major online talking point. Olivia Wilde, Ariana Grande, and Kelly Osbourne have all faced repeated comments about their weight. Every then and now, netizens often turn public appearances into harsh discussions about their health and appearance.
