Hilarie Burton Recalls How Abortion After Pregnancy Loss Helped Her To Conceive Her Daughter, Says “F*** You Supreme Court” Over Roe v. Wade Decision

One Tree Hill’ actress Hilarie Burton joins the long list of celebrities who have criticized the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade which established women’s constitutional right to abortion.

Burton penned a powerful note about her experience of getting an abortion after her struggle with infertility. She wrote it allowed her to conceive her and husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s 4-year-old daughter, George.

Hilarie Burton Opens Up About How Her Abortion Helped Her Future Pregnancies

Hilarie Burton shared a photo of her daughter George on Instagram and shared a strong message against the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade. She shared how an abortion after her fetus died made her uterus heal so that she could carry her future children.

The actress wrote, “This is my child. My beloved. My daughter. It is no secret I struggled with infertility. Losing multiple pregnancies before her was traumatic. But female bodies are all different and unpredictable. Having an abortion after my fetus died allowed for my uterus to heal in a way that made it healthy enough to carry future pregnancies. It doesn’t matter if you use the term D&C. The official word on the hospital paperwork is abortion. That’s what it was.”

Burton opposed Supreme Court’s decision and further wrote, “You know what would have made that painful day even worse? If abortion had been illegal, and law enforcement inspected my body to make sure I hadn’t caused my own miscarriage. Cause that’s what’s coming. It’s already happened. It was commonplace before #roevwade.”

She added, “Row V Wade protected my rights as a woman to have miscarriages without scrutiny. Now I know a lot of you have miscarried. You’ve written me to tell me about it. Think about every loss and then compound it by knowing that the Supreme Court just said it’s OK for states to look at you as a murder suspect in that situation. Your miscarriage will make you a murder suspect. I can’t say this clearly enough or shout it loud enough. I only have my daughter because of my abortion.”

So f*** you very much to the Supreme Court. And f*** you to the ignorant right wing extremists who want my daughter to have fewer rights than what I was born with. #wewillnotgoback,” Burton concluded her post.

Celebs Oppose Roe v. Wade Reversal

Many celebrities have opposed Supreme Court’s decision to give states the right to limit or ban access to abortion. Among them are Barack and Michelle Obama, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Jane Fonda, and others. In fact, Billie Armstrong of the Green Day band announced his decision to renounce his American citizenship due to the judgment.

Meadow Walker, Cheryl Burke, and Ireland Baldwin are among the famous personalities who have opened up about their own abortions.
