Meghan Markle is set to be a speaker at the SXSW Conference on International Women’s Day, as she also navigates through the royal family drama and relaunching her career as an actress. Fans would get to see Markle speaking as a part of a panel discussion titled ‘Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen’. Joining her would be Katie Couric, Brooke Shields, Nancy Wang Yuen and Errin Haines to moderate the conversation.

Hugh Forrest, Co-President and Chief Programming Officer of SXSW, said in a statement, “We are so honored to host this distinguished group on International Women’s Day for a significant discussion on the importance of representation in media and entertainment.”

The discussion at the event would be focused around women’s representation in media and entertainment. The panel is described as featuring “visionary female leaders at the forefront of news, media, entertainment, and philanthropy who are breaking barriers, challenging stereotypes, and working toward a healthier society on and off our screens.”

It will also chiefly focus on the challenges that still exist, especially for women of color and mothers.

Meghan’s participation in the panel aligns with her lifelong advocacy for women and girls, highlighting her commitment to gender equity. The discussion will also touch on the impact of social media on women’s mental health, particularly teenage girls.

The news about the event was shared on the website recently launched by Meghan and Prince Harry. The website also provides updates on their latest activities and links to their Archewell Foundation organization and Archewell Productions hub.

Last year, Meghan spent International Women’s Day supporting the Los Angeles-based charity Harvest Home, which provides housing, mental well-being support, and classes to expectant mothers facing challenges. Meghan and Prince Harry traditionally celebrate International Women’s Day with acts of service, emphasizing the importance of global feminism and inclusivity.
