Eddie Murphy Shares His Thoughts On Son’s Relationship With Martin Lawrence’s Daughter
During a recent interview with CBS Mornings, Eddie Murphy answered some questions about his son Eric Murphy’s relationship with Martin Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin Lawrence. The Oscar-nominated actor assured Gayle King that he was happy for the romance and that he and Lawrence have big plans for the couple’s future children.
“We just was like, ‘It’s cool.’ Yeah, it was cool. We thought it was cool,” he said, “They’re both beautiful, they look amazing together. And it’s funny, everybody’s like, ‘What is that baby gonna be funny?’ Our gene pool is just gonna make this funny baby.” Eddie added.
“If they ever get married and have a child, I am expecting the child to be funny,” he further said.
Martin Lawrence also shares similar opinions on his daughter’s romance with Murphy’s son. When asked about his thoughts on the kids’ relationship in 2022, the ‘Bad Boys’ actor said, “We kind of just stay out of their business and let them do their own thing and respect their thing,” before responding to a joke on if there’s a wedding planned, “I’m gonna try to get Eddie to pay for it.”

Eric Murphy And Jasmin Lawrence’s Relationship
Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence made their relationship official in 2021 when Eric posted an adorable picture of both of them, writing about how he was “head over heels” in love with Jasmin. Since then, more Instagram posts have followed, indicating that the relationship is pretty serious.
Talking about how they met, Jasmin said, “It wasn’t even our dads, and they’ve done two movies together, they’re friends.” She then added that they met through her uncle, clarifying that she and Eric “became really good friends because we bonded on a lot of things” and “understood each other on a certain level” because of their similar background.
“And over time, it just, you know, became more,” she said, while also ensuring that their folks are “absolutely” supportive of their relationship.
