Jennifer Lopez has recently released two documentaries back to back, marking another reason to make it to the headlines other than her love story with husband Ben Affleck. Her first documentary, ‘This Is Me…Now’ revolved around her journey as a musician. The documentary has a star-studded lineup gracing the screen and supporting Lopez as she tries to tell her story to the world.
Stars like Jane Fonda, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Post Malone, Kim Petras, Keke Palmer, and Jenifer Lewis among others featured in the documentary. Despite such big names appearing on screen to vouch for Lopez, there were a few who rejected the offer to be a part of her documentary.
Why Did Stars Like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Jason Momoa Refuse To Star In Jennifer Lopez’s Documentary?
Jennifer Lope’s musical documentary ‘This Is Me…Now’ is making waves since its release as the songstress is getting heavy recognition for it. Following her first documentary, Lopez also recently released her second film, ‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told‘ — which tells the story of her love, heartbreak and reconciliation with husband Ben Affleck.
As it is now streaming on Amazon Prime, Lopez is basking in the glory of her life story’s validation. The star has courageously brought the story of her life and love in front of the world through these documentaries. Many of her peers supported her by starring in her film and supporting her venture. But there are some others who plainly refused to be a part of it.
Among the luminaries who were asked but did not join Lopez’s documentary are Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Lizzo, Jason Momoa, Jennifer Coolidge, and Snoop Dogg. Even Vanessa Hudgens and Khloe Kardashian were in the mix for potential roles, but could not commit to appearing on screen for Lopez’s documentary.
It is unclear why these stars refused the offer, but reports suggest it was their unvailability and busy schedules that left them no option than to take a pass at the opportunity. While fans are disappointed by these stars not going that extra mile to support a fellow celebrity, Lopez has no regrets or hard feelings as she is happy with the cast she ultimately assembled.

“I Want All Different Kinds Of People”: Jennifer Lopez Reveals She Had An Elaborate List Of Stars She Wanted In Her Film
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about her film and the stars who wished to cast, Jennifer Lopez asserted that there are no “stars who got away,” and that she’s thrilled with the final result.
“They were giving me a list of all these amazing people, and I was like, ‘Yes, I like all of those people, but that’s not what I want,'” she said. “My first people were Jenifer Lewis and Jane Fonda, and they were like, ‘Wait, we don’t get it. This is like music. This is young.'” And I was like, ‘No. This is a council of people who I want to be very diverse. I want all different kinds of people.”
“These are people with all different personality traits from all different walks of life,” Lopez said. “But they all have something that affected me in some way — their philosophy on life, on love, on the universe, on music. That was the list that I made.”
As audiences immerse themselves in the world of This Is Me…Now, they’ll witness not just a star-studded spectacle, but a testament to Lopez’s unwavering artistic vision and her ability to curate a cast as diverse and dynamic as the music itself.
