James Gunn has shared a new image from the upcoming ‘Superman’ sequel, ‘Man of Tomorrow’, giving fans their first official glimpse of David Corenswet back in action as the iconic hero.

The film has been shrouded in secrecy. However, the new photo has generated plenty of speculation about where Superman’s next adventure will take him.

The excitement for Corenswet’s return is already growing after the superstar’s big success in 2025, which grossed over $618 million worldwide and brought a new generation to the Man of Steel. The actor’s portrayal of the character was one of the highlights of the new era of the DC Universe, captivating audiences with his hopeful and compassionate approach.

The image posted by Gunn seems to depict Superman in an unknown place. He captioned it “inside the Fortress”. There is speculation that it may be the Fortress of Solitude, but no official confirmation. Like most Gunn projects, the director is not revealing much about the major story elements at this time.

What is known, however, is that ‘Man of Tomorrow’ will greatly expand the DC Universe. The sequel will feature several big characters,like the legendary villain Brainiac as the main antagonist of the sequel. 

There are other rumors of additions, such as Maxima, The Engineer, and Green Lantern John Stewart. Brainiac is still one of the most formidable foes in the DC Comics universe. Known for collecting and preserving entire cities from across the universe, the artificial intelligence has long been considered a villain that fans have wanted to see properly adapted on the big screen.

One of the most interesting tidbits about the sequel is that Superman and Lex Luthor will have to work together. Their intense rivalry in the first movie could make the two characters one of the most interesting of the DCU when they are working together against a bigger enemy.
