The DCEU began with Clark Kent’s Man Of Steel. One of the remarkable production characteristics of Superman films has been the locations. Fans witnessed the resurrection of locations on celluloid. From the Hall of Justice to the Batcave, fans have seen it all, but one place i.e., Fortress Of Solitude is missing from DCEU’s Superman.
Fortress Of Solitude Of Superman Has Occurred In Other DC Projects
The first time the audience witnessed the fortress was in Richard Donner’s Superman. Though there has been no inclusion of it in the DCEU films, Fortress of Solitude has appeared in several television shows, animated shows, etc., It was featured recently in Superman & Lois, Supergirl, Smallville, Krypton.
In the popular comics, the Fortress is based near Metropolis and was originally called Secret Sanctuary. But, in the aftermath of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, it was relocated to the North Pole in the Arctic. The Fortress had Kryptonian technology, Kal-El’s ship, a projector, and the bottled city of Kandor.
Zack Snyder On The Fortress Of Solitude
Fans imagined that in Man Of Steel, the arctic location where Clark Kent and Amy Adams’ character Lois Lane appear together is the Fortress of Solitude. However, Zack Snyder has burst the bubble. In a media appearance for Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, he explained that the Fortress Of Solitude is more of an internal place rather than a physical place for Krypton’s Last Son.
