The first time the audience witnessed the fortress was in Richard Donner’s Superman. Though there has been no inclusion of it in the DCEU films, Fortress of Solitude has appeared in several television shows, animated shows, etc., It was featured recently in Superman & Lois, Supergirl, Smallville, Krypton.

In the popular comics, the Fortress is based near Metropolis and was originally called Secret Sanctuary. But, in the aftermath of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, it was relocated to the North Pole in the Arctic. The Fortress had Kryptonian technology, Kal-El’s ship, a projector, and the bottled city of Kandor.
